  • For Chronos 1.4 and 2.1HD refer to the the firmware update below:

If your camera is on a software version earlier than 0.7.x, the camera will not be able to authenticate with the debian.krontech.ca to get future software updates.

As a reference to know if you may be affected consider the following scenarios:

If your firmware was updated online on or after September 21, 2021, you can update your firmware online.

If you purchased your Chronos camera after September 21, 2021, you can also update your firmware online. This is because 1.4 and 2.1 Chronos cameras built on and after this date are shipped with software version 0.7.0.

If the firmware installed in your camera is prior to 0.7.0 then you will need to take the microSD card out of the camera and update it manually.

    Manual Update

  1. Use Balena Etcher to write the software to a microSD card. This is recommended as it verifies the integrity of the data written to the microSD card.

  2. Unzip the downloaded file

  3. Flash your new card with Balena Etcher

Note: Please make sure to use a micro SD card of 16 to 32GB capacity to optimize performance. We recommend using SanDisk micro SD cards.

You may need to start Balena etcher with the option "Run as administrator" if it does not flash the micro SD card successfully.
